Recycled gravel is made from concrete, brick, and masonry and is mainly used for drainage. It’s a cheaper alternative to quarry crushed material. Although manufacturers try to remove unwanted items, recycled gravel can still contain bits of steel, glass, nails, and other debris. This is fine for drainage but not safe for walking or driving on. For paths and driveways, it’s best to choose clean quarry crushed material instead.
