Pool sand is a soft, non abrasive sand recommended for use under pool liners. It is recommended by above ground pool manufacturers to have a 50mm sand base under the liner. This will help protect your liner, and provide a soft floor that provides comfort while walking in your pool. If you have a portable pool like an Intex, put the sand down before you assemble the pool. If you have a permanant above ground pool, build the outer walls first then put the sand inside before installing the liner.
